What is TFS?

TFS is the acronym for transcranial focal electrical stimulation. TFS is a unique, noninvasive, and focal stimulation modality utilizing novel concentric ring electrodes (CREs). TFS via CREs has a uniform current density and focused stimulation directly below the electrodes with a very steep electric field, which is an advantage over transcranial direct-current stimulation (tDCS) or other transcranial stimulation methods. Further, we have found TFS to be painless.
